Some cars are so impressive that you never forget the first time you see them. I first saw Ab Jenkins’ mighty Mormon Meteor during the 1992 Parade of Classics in Auburn. This was prior to its extensive restoration during the early 2000’s. There was a low rumble that proceeded the car’s arrival, that I naively attributed to the pair of Corvettes (NC) that accompanied it. The Meteor made an impression on this then-19-year-old college sophomore. Since that time, I’ve seen it up close and personal at the old Indianapolis Concours on the Circle in downtown Indy as well as at the First Celebration of Automobiles at IMS in 2011. This untamed beast is still impressive as it nears its 80th birthday. This month’s treasure from the vault dates from 1985. We see the Mormon Meteor in its natural environment, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. There are a couple of other Full Classics® in these pictures, so good hunting!
